Patterns, Hats, & Spring

Happy June everyone!

With the new month comes new favorites!

Dress + Hat

Today the sun has finally decided to come out so put together this Spring inspired outfit. The blue patterned dress is from Target and the straw hat is from Urban Outfitters. I’m in love with this dress because usually I am drawn to very dark colors and this adds the perfect pop that I needed from my spring and summer wardrobe.

I’m a strong believer in that the accessories make the outfit. I got the “evil eye” necklace while at a local night market (sorry I do not know the brand) and the jade necklace from Tilly’s.

I recently got this blush by Neutrogena at Target and I’ve been obsessed with it ever since. It adds the perfect bit of rosiness to my cheeks and blends in well with any skin tone. It is in the color Pure (22).

If you didn’t know, I’m a big fan of folk and indie music and lately I’ve been really into these songs:

– Different Child by Roo Panes

– Seven Nation Army by Zella Day

– Smile by Mikky Ekko

– Take the World by Johnnyswim

– Open Road by Roo Panes

– Holocene by Bon Iver

What have you been loving this season?

Pastels for Spring.

Hi There!
A trend that has caught my attention lately are pastel nails. Pastel nails are very versatile when it comes to color schemes of outfits and pair well with everything from light to dark tones.
The light and airy feel the pastel hue has is perfect for Spring and can have a vintage look when decorated with white polka dots or stripes.

Casual Clothes + Good Music

Hi There!
Today was pretty laid back so I went for a look that was quite casual.

Shirt: Project Social
Jacket: Forever 21
Leggings: Hue
Boots: Rock and Candy

Also, I’ve been listening to a lot of music lately on Pandora, so I thought I would share some of my favorite songs at the moment:
1. Pretty much anything by James Bay
2. “All I Want” – Kodaline
3. “Post Tropical” – James Vincent McMorrow
4. “Billie Jean” – The Civil Wars
5. “From Eden” – Hozier
6. “Roll Away Your Stone” – Mumford & Sons
7. “Dead And Gone” – The Black Keys

The Daydream Collection: Warby Parker

Today, March 17th, Warby Parker launched their new line of sunglasses called the Daydream Collection!  This line of Spring inspired sunglasses have a light and airy look and feel to them in colors such as Crystal and Burnt Lemon Tortoise.

One pair I absolutely fell in love with was the Piper in Petal Tortoise.  The cat-eye frame gives the sunglasses a vintage look and the contrast between the brown and tan makes the overall pair look whimsical and refreshing.

If I were to make an outfit with this gorgeous pair of sunglasses, I would pair it with my Floral Babydoll Dress from Forever 21, Sheer Black Tights from Hue, and Combat Boots from Rock and Candy (Nordstrom Rack) for a fresh Spring look.  The darker colors would make the lighter tones of the sunglasses pop, while the flowy cut of the babydoll dress would compliment the curved shape of the frame.

The Mock Neck.

Hi There!
In today’s outfit I paired a sleeveless mock neck top from Forever 21 with a skirt from American Eagle Outfitters and combat boots from Rock and Candy.

Figuring out what to pair with a mock neck top can be quite tricky.
What to wear with mock neck crop tops:
– high waisted bottoms
– skinny jeans, skirts, shorts (cloth and denim), maxi skirts
